Common questions
Booking, Timing and Response Times
What happens after I call?
You'll speak with a real local team member, not a call centre. We'll talk through what's going on, get a rough picture of the job, and lock in a time that suits. Before anyone starts work, you get a clear price in writing to look over, so there's nothing to guess at.
How do I book?
Call (02) 9134 9029 and we'll sort a time that works. Genuine electrical emergencies jump the queue any time, day or night. Standard jobs run during business hours, often same or next day depending on what's needed and how the week's schedule is tracking.
What counts as an electrical emergency?
Sparks from a switch or outlet, a burning smell from the switchboard, or no power anywhere in the house are all genuine emergencies, and anything that feels unsafe to leave overnight counts as one too. Not sure it qualifies? Ring anyway; we'd sooner have a quick chat than leave you guessing overnight.
Do you work weekends?
Yes, for genuine electrical emergencies, every day of the week. Regular bookings continue through the week and into weekends when the schedule allows, though we'll always confirm a time with you first rather than promise one upfront.
Common questions
What It Costs to Get It Sorted
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No call-out fee for quotes, ever. We confirm the price with you up front, in writing, before any work starts, so you know exactly what's involved before deciding to go ahead. That quote costs you nothing, whether the job goes ahead or not.
How do quotes work?
We come out, take a look, and confirm the cost in writing before work begins. Nothing verbal, nothing vague. If the scope changes once we're inside a wall, we stop and talk to you before doing more, not after.
Do prices change once you start?
No. The price we quote is the price you pay, unless you ask us to add extra work partway through. If we hit something we didn't expect, we stop and explain before going any further. You decide before we go ahead, not after the invoice lands.
How do I pay?
However suits you on the day, card or bank transfer are both fine. You'll always get a written invoice and a Certificate of Compliance once the job's signed off, so you've got a paper trail for insurance or a future sale.
Common questions
Local Answers for Narraweena
Can you handle new builds and renovations here?
Definitely. Plenty of Narraweena's homes date from the 1960s and 70s, and a good number of those original places are being renovated, extended or rebuilt as the suburb changes. We rewire older circuits, upgrade switchboards for bigger loads, and wire new builds from scratch.
How local are you, really?
We're in Narraweena most weeks, working streets around the Alfred Street shops and St John the Apostle Catholic Primary School. That's minutes away on a normal run, not a call centre reading your address off a map for the first time.
Do you work on heritage/strata properties?
Narraweena's mostly stand-alone and semi-detached houses from the postwar era, not high-rise strata, so most of our work here is house wiring and switchboards rather than building common-property jobs. If you're in a townhouse or smaller unit block nearby, we still handle everything inside your own walls.
What suburbs do you service?
We service Narraweena and the neighbouring suburbs on our regular run: Dee Why, Cromer, Beacon Hill, Brookvale and Collaroy. If you're just outside this list, get in touch anyway. We cover plenty of addresses nearby that aren't listed here yet.
Common questions
Licensed, Insured and Done Properly
What is a safety switch (RCD) and do I need one?
A safety switch, also called an RCD, is built to cut the power almost the instant it detects a fault, protecting you from electric shock. Not every older home has one fitted on every circuit. If yours hasn't been checked in a while, it's worth having us test it.
What brands do you install?
We fit Clipsal and Hager switchgear, along with SAL and Beacon Lighting fixtures, not cheap imports. Premium brands mean parts that are built to last and easy to source if something ever needs replacing years down the track.
What is AS/NZS 3000?
AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules is the rulebook every electrician in Australia has to build to. It covers everything from how a circuit gets protected to what cable goes where. We work to it on every job, and it's why you walk away with a Certificate of Compliance instead of just our word for it.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold NSW Electrical Contractor Licence #452529C, we're fully insured, and we're members of Master Electricians Australia. That's the paperwork behind every job, not just a claim on a website.
